I'm Carol, aka Chaka, and these are my memories which were originally written for my kids, Mark and Amanda. It is a way for me to let them glimpse into my life to see what has influenced me and made me who I am.

In and Out Boxes

Just like with paperwork, there’s an in & out box for life.  Only those boxes don’t hold paper, they hold values - things we keep, things we toss.

Keep what is important, not the frivolous nonsense that we often tend to focus on.

In Box

Family…although they can at times be trying, family is our base.

Friends…it takes work and a strong resolve to hold a friendship, but well worth it.

Values…things we were raised with, taught to lean on.

Morals…learned by watching & searching within our soul.  Gleaned at a young age.

Judgment…learned by paying attention & using our head.

Memories…the stories we store in our heart.

Kindness…the essence of you others will always remember.

Forgiveness…not often easy, but the wise choice.

Love…it’s what keeps us alive and makes us who we truly are.

God…without Him, there’s nothing, we’re nothing.

And also keep some music, books & laughter.

Out Box

Things…stuff, possessions we once had, wished we had.  They’re  just things.

Revenge…feelings of retribution.

Bitterness…it will pull you down, break your character.

Greed…the root of evil.

Hatred…no good comes from it.

Fear…there’s nothing you can’t do with a little help.

Toss out pride, conceit & envy.
